Where do breakers get their product?

How breakers on Whatnot and TikTok source sealed Pokémon: distributor accounts, secondary wholesale, what platforms require, and what to verify before buying.

The three real sources

Breakers source from authorized distributors (cheapest per unit, slow and allocated), secondary wholesalers (market-priced, fast and deep), and retail arbitrage (last resort — fine for a one-off, ruinous as a strategy).

A working break schedule almost always runs on the middle lane: secondary wholesale delivers the case you need this week, not the allocation you might get next quarter.

What platforms now expect

Live-selling platforms have tightened seller-sourcing rules — sealed product with murky provenance is a suspension risk. The practical standard: buy factory-sealed cases with an invoice trail from a verifiable business, and keep those invoices.

This is where the case matters: a factory-taped case from distribution is the cleanest provenance in the hobby, and it's what serious wholesale suppliers should hand you by default.

The economics per break

Break profitability = (spots sold × price) − landed case cost. Landed is the number that matters: a 'cheaper' case plus $150 freight often loses to a market-pegged case with shipping included. Price your source on landed cost, always.

What to verify before wiring anyone money

Real business identity (registered entity, physical address, support that answers). Factory-sealed with stated chain of custody. Invoices standard, not on request. Pricing pegged to something you can check — a live market number beats a mystery discount. References from other breakers.

Frequently asked

Can breakers get distributor accounts?

Yes, with business documentation — but new accounts get thin allocation on exactly the chase sets breaks need. Most breakers pair a distributor account with secondary wholesale.

Is retail arbitrage viable for breaks?

As a stopgap only. Per-unit costs are higher, provenance is weaker on platforms, and supply is capped at what shelves hold.

What does RSC offer breakers specifically?

Factory cases for almost every current product (distro-direct available), 24–48h dispatch, free FedEx Express worldwide, and invoice provenance standard. See the breakers page.
